About Melanie
Melanie Dickerson is the New York Times bestselling author of happily-ever-after romance. She grew up in rural South Alabama dreaming of a career as a novelist. She wrote stories in notebooks for her friends from the time she was twelve years old and finished her first full-length romance novel when she was fourteen. She’s come a long way since then, but she still believes in love, laughter, afternoon tea, and the power of story.
Melanie started querying literary agents in high school, but realizing how difficult it is to get published, she went to college, earned a degree in special education of the hearing impaired from the University of Alabama, and taught in Georgia’s public schools before spending a year as a missionary in Ukraine. Next came marriage and children and the rediscovery of her love for writing. She now has twenty-eight published novels.
With over 1M books sold, Melanie’s work has been awarded two Christy Awards, a Carol Award, a Maggie Award, a Golden Quill Award, a National Readers Choice Award, and a Book Buyers’ Best Award, has been named to Christian Retailing’s Best, and hit #1 in her category on the New York Times bestseller list.
When she’s not writing, Melanie can be found watching While You Were Sleeping for the hundredth time with her handsome hero husband, and often shaking her head at her slightly unhinged Jack Russell terrier. She lives in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachians near Huntsville, Alabama.
Here are a few of my favorite Bible verses*
- No man can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for him. ~ Psalm 49:7
- I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. ~ Job 19:25
- “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord. ~ Isaiah 59:20
- The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ … I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.” ~ John 1:29-30 & 34
- For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. ~ Titus 2:11-14
- The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. ~ Psalm 33:5
- We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. ~ Psalm 33:20-22
- Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. ~ Hebrews 10:19-24
- Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. ~ Psalm 42:11

My Faith
I believe that Jesus is the Son of Gon and He has saved me from my sin. We are all sinners and fall short of God’s holiness, but I try my best to live for Him. I love to talk to people about what He can do in your life, if you open yourself to His love, healing, and the Holy Spirit’s power to change you. God wants to heal you, save you, and He loves you.
Jesus came to seek and save those who were lost, to bind up the broken hearted, to heal the sick, and to be our best friend. I believe He is the one and only Son of God, the only Creator God who came to Earth to suffer and die for His creation, and I would be happy to share Scripture and experiences with anyone who is interested.
